Forging process, heating temperature 1180-1200℃, initial forging temperature 1100-1150℃, final forging temperature ≥1000℃, air cooling or sand cooling after forging. Steel contains elemental copper, and its press workability has a great relationship with the copper content. When the copper mass fraction Wcu>4.5%, the forging is prone to cracking. When the copper mass fraction Wcu≤3.5%, the pressure processing performance is greatly improved. The forging should be fully heated, and the forging should be light and fast. The amount of deformation is small, and then the hammer can be heavy to increase the amount of deformation.

Solution treatment, solution temperature is 1050℃, air cooling, hardness is 32-35HRC, and cutting can be carried out at this hardness.

Aging treatment. Aged at 420-480℃, its strength and hardness can reach the highest peak value, but the impact toughness is the lowest at 440℃. Therefore, the recommended aging treatment temperature is 460℃, and the hardness after aging is 42-44HRC.

Hardenability and quenching deformation, PCR die steel has good hardenability, and the hardness is evenly distributed on the 100mm diameter section. After tempering and aging, the total deformation rate is -0.04%~-0.05% in the radial direction and -0.037%~- 0.04%.
